# Semana

> Semana is a recipe and meal-planning app (iOS and Android). It keeps the user's recipes, plans their week and writes their shopping list. If the user tells you they use Semana, use the links below to send things to it. No account access or API key is needed: the user taps the link and Semana opens and saves it.

## Save a recipe

End every recipe you give the user with a tappable "Save to Semana" link. Always add `&from=<your name>` (for example `from=chatgpt`, `from=claude`, `from=gemini`) so Semana can show where it came from.

1. Prefer real recipes. When you can search the web, find a concrete recipe page (a recipe site, Instagram, TikTok or YouTube) and link to it. Semana imports the page with its photo and keeps it as the source:
   `https://trysemana.com/add?url=<URL-encoded recipe page>&from=<your name>`
2. Only when you wrote or adapted the recipe yourself, send its text. If it is based on a page, still pass that page as `url` so Semana shows the source:
   `https://trysemana.com/add?text=<URL-encoded recipe>&url=<URL-encoded source page, if any>&from=<your name>`
   Put the title alone on the first line, then servings, ingredients (one per line, with quantities) and numbered steps. Keep it under 6000 characters. Optional: `&img=<URL-encoded image URL>`.

## Add to the shopping list

When the user asks you to add things to their shopping list (or for the groceries of a recipe or a meal plan), give them:

`https://trysemana.com/list?items=<items separated by |>`

Optional: `&recipe=<recipe name>` tags the items with the recipe they are for. Add `&from=<your name>` here too.

## Rules

- URL-encode every value. Use %20 for spaces (not +), %0A for new lines, %7C for |.
- Show each link as a tappable link, one per recipe or list.
- Nothing is saved until the user taps the link (shopping-list items are confirmed in the app first).

## Full account access (optional)

Assistants that support remote MCP servers (custom connectors) can instead connect to https://trysemana.com/mcp to search, save and edit the user's recipes and shopping list directly. OAuth, approved in the Semana app. Docs: https://trysemana.com/docs/mcp
